Sara’s Pick: Silent City by Carrie Smith

Her first day back from dealing with ten months of cancer treatments, Claire Codella is assigned the murder of a high school principle, Hector Sanchez. It becomes a high-profile case because a Broadway star is sending her child to the school. As she struggles to discover who would (or wouldn’t) want to kill Hector, she discovers parents, staff and school administrators might have wanted the forward thinking, insensitive, demanding out of the school system for good.
