Jane’s Pick: Unplug by Suze Yalof Schwartz
What a wonderful, no nonsense introduction to meditation. Unplug is easy to read and de-mystifies the act of meditating. It also provides background on some of the physical and mental benefits that come with regular meditation (even as little as 5 minutes a day provides positive results). The author, Suze Yalof Schwartz is the founder of Unplug Meditation Studio and she uses personal success stories to highlight how anyone can start a daily practice. Yalof Schwartz also helps define the difference between various forms of meditation and even outlines 15 daily meditations to try. There really is something for everyone.
Unplug doesn’t delve deep into meditation, but that is why I think it is a perfect book for beginners, especially skeptical beginners. Unplug provides a practical approach and is a quick read – so you can jump in sooner than later.
