Kathryn’s Pick: The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa

I honestly went into this book with low expectations because I have read one too many “cliché YA vampire novels”. I am happy to suggest this book because The Immortal Rules turned out to be so much more than that for me.
Allie, this novel’s protagonist, struggles with the acceptance of a world where vampires rule and humans are kept as pets. Her unique journey into the centuries-old vampire world left me interested and eager to know all of the lore behind this fictional scenario of a world they ended up in. This story features plenty of action, fantasy, and romance all eloquently blended into a paranormal setting. If you’re looking for a non-traditional take on the dark and twisted world of vampires I highly suggest this novel and its sequels: The Eternity Cure (Book #2) and The Forever Song (Book #3).
