Dallas’ Pick: The Giving Tree By: Shel Silverstein

This has always been one of my favorite books growing up. Reading it now as an adult I have started to see it in a different view. The book is about a tree and her best friend, which is a young boy in the start of the book. Throughout the pages you find out she watches the boy grow up and become an old man, soon the boy begins to forget about all the things that the tree did for him we he was just a little boy, but he always manages to find his way back to her. Unfortunately it is never for a visit it is usually because he is in need of something from her. This book, as an adult, makes you realize just how far you will go and give up for the people in your life that you love.
