The Herd

The Herd

Cori’s Pick: The Herd by Andrea Bartz

THE HERD is a glamorous, women-only co-working space in New York, founded by THE HERD’s fearless leader, Eleanor Walsh.  Eleanor has surrounded herself with two of her best friends from childhood to make this co-working space a wild success and is flattered when a third friend moves back to New York and wants to become a member.  But things go awry the night of a huge news conference.  Eleanor mysteriously goes missing, leaving her friends and staff to figure out if she intentionally left – or was foul play involved?  With an entire cast of characters that could be at fault, including all of her friends, husband and ex-boyfriend, this plot includes plenty of thrilling twists and turns!  This isn’t a blood and guts thriller, there is just enough suspense to lure you in, but nothing so dark that your psyche persuades you to lock all of your doors and turn on all of your lights.  And thankfully so, because really, I just couldn’t handle that right now.  Are you with me?

I really enjoyed this read, and have added Bartz’ debut novel, The Lost Night to my TBR list.
