Sara’s Pick: The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
After Tiffy Moore’s boyfriend throws her out of his apartment, she is desperate to find a new place to stay. Luckily Leon works the overnight in a health care facility and is looking for someone to share his flat. There are strict times for “co-habiting”: out of the flat by 8:00am and not back before 6pm. Perfect for her 9-5 job, and he spends the weekends away as well. The price is good for her and he needs the money to help his brother get out of jail. Of course, there are things that need to be discussed (who takes out the trash, what leftovers are fair game, the correct position of the toilet seat), so the note writing commences. What a delightful book. The note writing is clever and laugh-out-loud funny. The days roll by, and by and by. What will happen if they ever meet?
