Cori’s Pick: You Me Everything by Catherine Isaac
You Me Everything is Catherine Isaac’s American debut. If you’re headed out to the pool, beach, or lake – this is a great summer book to take along!
Set in the French countryside, Jess sets off on an idyllic summer vacation with her son, William and a few friends. However, that vacation also means seeing her ex-boyfriend (and William’s father) Adam, in an effort – at her mother’s request – to make Adam fall in love with his own son. The chapters take you back and forth from the beginning of Jess and Adam’s romance, to the tortured split, with some surprises as to why their relationship truly came to end. Filled with hysterical scenes, romance, and some family drama and heartbreak, this book makes for an easy summer read that leaves me anxiously anticipating my next book under the umbrella, dipping my toes in the water, and sipping a cold drink. Summer is here – happy reading!
