Dogs provide unconditional love, non-judgmental companionship and teach us about loyalty, responsibility and mortality. Dogs aren’t with us for long. That’s what they have to teach us, that we have just so many of these moments and we shouldn’t waste them by not being present. A Dog’s Purpose is an emotional drama based on W. Bruce Cameron’s 2010 novel about a dog that’s reincarnated several times from the 1950s through the 2000s; the dog keeps its memories and personality, despite being different breeds and genders. The movie teaches us about empathy and the importance of companionship, both human and animal.
